Craft Sale a big sucsess

My craft sale was a big success, alot of work went into this and being that it will probably be my last craft sale for a while,I was happy with the out come.Besides working at school(going on my 24th year)My 40th anniversary is on Thanksgiving this year, with my husband retiring from General Electric after 40 years, yes it will be different for sure, but we have always gotten along pretty well and I honestly don't see that changing.

My youngest grandson turned 3 the same day as the craft fair November 12th,so after a long busy day ,I went right to his house to celebrate this wonderful little boys birthday.he is Nana's little pumpkin.

I hope everyone will have a wonderful Thanksgiving,I hope you are all blessed as I am.

50% off sale starts today until Friday on my site www.shandalin.com
Hi Everyone,Yes tis the season to be so busy you forget to post things ,I have been making so many items for my up coming craft sale which is this coming Saturday and my grandson's 3rd birthday.I have also been trying to get my new site up www.KarensCountryGarden.com and adding to that, plus working and babysitting my grand kids after work doesn't leave a lot of time for much else. With the Holidays fast approaching I would like you all to think about buying American and helping out the small business owners, online or not we all need to support each other, here is some thing to think about:
Christmas 2011 -- Birth of a New Tradition
As the holidays approach, the giant Asian factories are kicking into high
gear to provide Americans with monstrous piles of cheaply produced goods --
merchandise that has been produced at the expense of American labor. This
year will be different. This year Americans will give the gift of genuine
concern for other Americans. There is no longer an excuse that, at gift
giving time, nothing can be found that is produced by American hands. Yes

there is!

It's time to think outside the box, people. Who says a gift needs to fit in
a shirt box, wrapped in Chinese produced wrapping paper?
Everyone -- yes EVERYONE gets their hair cut. How about gift certificates
from your local American hair salon or barber?
Gym membership? It's appropriate for all ages who are thinking about some
health improvement.
Who wouldn't appreciate getting their car detailed? Small, American owned
detail shops and car washes would love to sell you a gift certificate or a
book of gift certificates.
Are you one of those extravagant givers who think nothing of plonking down
the Benjamines on a Chinese made flat-screen? Perhaps that grateful gift
receiver would like his driveway sealed, or lawn mowed for the summer, or
driveway plowed all winter, or games at the local golf course.
There are a bazillion owner-run restaurants -- all offering gift
certificates. And, if your intended isn't the fancy eatery sort, what about
a half dozen breakfasts at the local breakfast joint. Remember, folks this
isn't about big National chains -- this is about supporting your home town
Americans with their financial lives on the line to keep their doors open.
How many people couldn't use an oil change for their car, truck or
motorcycle, done at a shop run by the American working guy?
Thinking about a heartfelt gift for mom? Mom would LOVE the services of a
local cleaning lady for a day.

My computer could use a tune-up, and I KNOW I can find some young guy who is struggling to get his repair business up and running.
OK, you were looking for something more personal. Local crafts people, online sites, spin
their own wool and knit them into scarves. They make jewelry, and pottery and candy wrappers,
and beautiful wooden boxes.
Plan your holiday outings at local, owner operated restaurants and leave
your server a nice tip. And, how about going out to see a play or ballet at
your hometown theater,Musicians need love too, so find a venue showcasing local bands.
Honestly, people, do you REALLY need to buy another ten thousand Chinese
lights for the house? When you buy a five dollar string of light, about
fifty cents stays in the community. If you have those kinds of bucks to
burn, leave the mailman, trash guy or babysitter a nice BIG tip.
You see, Christmas is no longer about draining American pockets so that
China can build another glittering city. Christmas is now about caring about
US, encouraging American small businesses to keep plugging away to follow
their dreams. And, when we care about other Americans, we care about our
communities, and the benefits come back to us in ways we couldn't imagine.
THIS is the new American Christmas tradition.
Forward this to everyone on your mailing list -- post it to discussion
groups -- throw up a post on Craigslist in the Rants and Raves section in
your city -- send it to the editor of your local paper and radio stations,
and TV news departments. This is a revolution of caring about each other,

and isn't that what Christmas is about?

Also remember to check the first few # on the packaging bar codes...if it starts with either 00 or 000 it's made in the USA or Canada.

                   Happy Holidays everyone!

weathering the storm

I hope everyone has weathered the storm, hurricane Irene was nasty in some parts of the country,New York got it's share of damage ,we were on vacation up north at Old Forge NY near Blue Mountain Lake and came home Sunday August 28th at 7:30 arrived about 10:30 to find a rather large tree in the middle of the road.A few blips of power outage, but nothing long lasting thank God.I hope everyone else is doing as well.
I have left Wrap candy due to some personal reasons and feel very sad about it,but when your not recognized for anything you do and hit heads with people well then it is just time to leave.I enjoyed being a moderator on that site, made a lot of friends that I will always cherish.
I am n the process of developing a new site www.KarensCountryGarden.com
t will be a place where I can sell my mixes, and my homemade crafts.
Well enough for now,I hope this blog finds all of you healthy and happy, don;t forget to check out my other site www.shandalin.com I have many new digital items for the coming holidays.

My birthday is July 31 coming up fast but I have decided that I am not going to get any older, yup, figured I want to just stay this age for a while.

Happy Summer 2011

Here we are ,one more day of work and off for the summer.I have been so busy this year with orders especially for graduations, not complaining, but this was a time of doing a retirement party for my Best friend Roxy,I am sure going to miss her.
I have decided to go back to my painting,I have not painted in years.I really love to paint especially on glass, although I think most of my paint is no good, that is how long it has been since I painted.
As the years tick by,I often wonder who will I meet on here and face book or any of the places I travel on the Internet.I really have been blessed with knowing so many talented people ,there have been a few that I would of been better off not knowing ,but you take the good with the bad, mostly good....yes I am smiling!

On to more pleasant things, father's day is soon approaching as well as the 4Th of July, people are getting ready for graduations, vacations, and I for one need the summer off. This year found a lot of lay offs at my school, with some being hired back which was a welcome relief.

I have candy bar wrappers and a lot of bag toppers on my site for these occasions, which can be personalized free,or you can do that yourself, which ever you fancy.I also have cello bags and other items on my cello site for sale,so please take a look and pass it around.I believe in promoting each others sites, and artistic abilities.Have a wonderful Memorial day.God bless!

Almost May

Hi everyone, well I hope your Easter was as good as mine.I sure do love seeing my grandkids trying to find those eggs the Easter bunny left all over the place.I especially loved that fact that all my grandkids where with me in church for services, that doesn;t always happen. The weather here in New York has been strange.Monday it was freezing even spit a little snow, yesterday and today it is in the 80's.I really think Mother nature has gone mad and who could blame her with all the going on in the world.have you ever thought that this country is just gone stark raving mad?Yeah me too!

On my site I have a new design wrapper that is perfect for Mother's day, sorry the picture didn;t turned out as well as the wrapper did,but it really is so pretty.Would look so nice in a coffee cup with some little coffee packets.

I hope all of you are well and enjoying life to the fullest.Until next time!Bye for now.

I hope I get the hang of this blogging,i so do love to talk,or type as it maybe.Meeting new people and seeing what talents they have is awesome.
Lets all say a prayer for all those in japan and no matter how hard we have it ,they have it worse then most of us.Do you think with all this crazy stuff going on in the world.that God maybe mad at us?Maybe he is just sad at what this world has become.I guess he will let us know when we get there, but for right now ,I am just going to love and appreciate everything I have.Yes,I am so blessed.

Shandalin's Corner

Well it has been a while since I was on my blog for sure.I am just now getting to know how to blog.At first I thought a blog was liek a diary that you allowed people to read.LOL..guess in a way it is.I want to tell you about my candy wrappers I design, they are for all occasions ,fun to make ,and I also did a U-Tube video on how to wrap a candy bar which you can find on my website.
With all the things going on in this world,at lease the internet has some kind of out let,if it's to just get away from all the madness or to create something or just to talk to people.I feel so badly for people who are out of work, who feel like they work and get no where, all the prices going up ,except our pay,it is a crazy world that we live in.
I am going to try to post some pictures on here,so wish me luck.Have a wonderful day!
